Diagnostic Tests

Where necessary, specific diagnostic tests will be recommended in order to ascertain or confirm certain suspected conditions or nutritional imbalances – this eliminates any guess-work and helps to pinpoint the root of the problem.

Most tests are non-intrusive, and samples (where applicable) will be sent to renowned laboratories based in the UK, Europe or the USA.  Many laboratories are recognised by health insurance companies, so it may be possible for clients to claim on their policy, via a written referral from their GP.

By prior arrangement, an "in-clinic" food intolerance test can also be provided during the consultation, or if requested, a "self-test" food intolerance kit can be purchased.  Certain other simple tests can be undertaken during the consultation (e.g. the "zinc taste test"), or even at home by the client (such as a stomach acid test).

The laboratory tests that Nutricoach can arrange for you include:

  • Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (to assess status of digestive health)

  • Female & Male Hormone Profiles

  • Stress Hormone Profiles

  • Allergy and Intolerance Testing

  • Osteoporosis Risk Assessment

  • Cardiovascular Risk Assessment

  • Urine Thyroid Hormones

  • Hair Mineral Analysis

  • Metabolic Profiles

  • Antibody Profiles (including Candida and Gluten)

  • Liver Function/Detoxification Profile

  • Homocysteine Testing

  • Histamine levels

  • Essential Fatty Acid Analysis

Test kits for the above can be ordered and delivered to your own home, but for those tests requiring a blood sample (other than a DIY pinprick sample) you will need the assistance of your GP, practice nurse or other qualified phlebotomist.

Tests are charged separately. Costs vary, depending on the complexity of the test and the laboratory involved.

Please note that all test results are sent directly from the laboratory to the nutritional therapist, for analysis and interpretation.
