you will spend an hour at your local major supermarket, where you
will be shown examples of the best foods that are suitable for you
and your budget.
You will also be advised on healthier alternatives to your
current favourite foods.
Whilst touring the supermarket aisles, you may be
introduced to foods that you wouldn't normally consider - for
example, have you eaten, or even seen, quinoa? Do you know
what a physalis tastes li
ke?
Do you always steer clear of the
more 'exotic' herbs and spices because you don't know how to use
them?
In addition, the nutritionist will explain how to read food labels
and interpret the nutritional information displayed on packaging.
(There are many types and styles of food labelling, and it can be
very confusing if you don't know what to look out for.) Armed
with this knowledge, you will begin to see how many 'hidden'
ingredients there are in certain foods. In turn, you will be
able to make smarter and healthier choices when doing the weekly
shopping.
